little miss Dawson

Introducing the newest little Dawson (name yet to be determined). Our little girl decided to join us last night at 11:05 pm after just four hours of crazy hard labor. She has thick, dark hair like her brother and so far is also a great sleeper and eater. We are thrilled she is finally here and just relaxing in the hospital.

Impromptu Maternity Shoot

So yes, it has been over a year since I last posted to this blog. Partly because of a stolen camera right after we moved, then of course the move and working on our new house, and then getting pregnant and feeling like death warmed over for a few months. To quickly catch you up on our lives, we now live in Indianapolis in a darling 100 year-old home that we bought in foreclosure. As far as foreclosed homes go, it was in great shape (although it needed lots of cosmetic love like new floors, new paint everywhere, landscaping, etc). One day I might get around to actually taking photos of it, but trust me, it is darling. Grayden is walking and talking (okay mostly he just signs "cat" or "car" or "more") and is on the move all day. And we are expecting baby number two to join us in about 6-8 weeks. I have failed to post pictures of our amazing vacation in Nice, the projects around the house, and the adventures we are having in Indy, but you are just going to have to deal with it because I don't feel like playing catch up.

This week while Grayden and I were playing in the Indianapolis Art Museum gardens, a photographer doing a photo shoot with a couple asked if she could take a few quick shots and email them to me. She said she is also a mom and always wished she had more photos of her while pregnant. She literally snapped a bunch of photos in less than a minute and was on her way...and I am shocked at how cute they turned out, despite the fact that I am not wearing make-up, jean skirts are comfortable, but not so flattering, and the same goes for my sandals.

But Grayden is stinking adorable, so I just had to share.

crabby pants

Don't let the post title confuse you; Grayden has not his a rough patch. In fact, he is one of the easiest going babies I have ever seen. He is starting to figure out napping and how to fall asleep on his own. He sleeps long stretches at night, and he loves the sling, swing, and stroller.

But since it has finally gotten warm here in Boston, I can finally pull out his summer onesies. My dear friends Arianne and Aubree got Grayden this adorable outfit.

Okay, maybe he was just a little bit crabby at the end.

leprechan

I decided it was high time to try on the fabric shoes that I made for Grayden (especially since his 0-3 month pairs would probably not fit pretty soon....he has very long feet). The result was pretty stinking adorable.

my little monkey

This is what I get to wake up to every morning! Grayden loves to wiggle between feedings in the morning. He recently has figured out how to nap during the day, even though the naps are usually 30 minutes long. But it is wonderful to be able to nurse him and then put him down.

Oh Mom, that sun is too bright!

fists of fury

Grayden loves to waive his arms and move his fists around all day (see: the bumbo). He occasionally has the good luck to get a fist into his mouth to suck on. In the mornings when I take him out of the swaddle to nurse, he often sucks on his fist furiously while I grab my water bottle and get settled on the couch. Today he found his fist during tummy time.

Utter bliss at finding the fist.

These are my favorite jammies. The pirate theme is adorable for little boys.

morning smiles

If you slept for 9 hours straight and then ate twice in a row, you would be this happy too!
